My Approach
I strive to create a space where you feel safe to share your life experiences; a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. My approach will vary person to person seeing as no two stories are ever identical. Often, I like to start by exploring the story of your life-- spending time painting the complete picture of past and present.
In order to make lasting change, it is helpful to understand the root causes of our concerns. Most of us are not born with the concerns that bring us to counselling; instead, we pick them up along the way. Sometimes our life stories become overrun with unhelpful assumptions about ourselves or the world around us. Sometimes limiting labels and expectations have a hand in writing our story; sometimes trauma takes authorship. It’s natural for challenges to be a part of our story; but I want to ensure they do not dictate all your future chapters. Maybe what's brought you to counselling are patterns of persistent anxiety, perfectionism, or people-pleasing, maybe patterns of thoughts about yourself like "I am not good enough". I want to understand where these patterns came from so we can work to make meaningful, and lasting change.
Once we understand more about your challenges, then we can work toward the change you desire while drawing from a wide array of evidence based approaches like: EMDR Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Additionally, drawing from Mindfulness, Attachment Theory, and Somatic Theory.

My Story
My journey through life has been one of many diverse experiences. Growing up, my family led a nomadic lifestyle—frequently moving to a new country every couple of years and adapting to many new “homes”. I found myself immersed in a myriad of cultures where I grew to love, and learn from, each experience. I became fascinated in learning people’s stories and understanding how their unique experiences shape who they are.
I have always been captivated by the human narrative—what drives us, what shapes our perspectives, and how our pasts influence our present selves. This passion and curiosity greatly inform my therapeutic style now.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time exploring the Kootenays. Horseback riding, paddleboarding, and snowboarding are among some of my favourite activities! I love good food, belly laughs with friends, and am currently attempting to learn the skill of gardening!
Whether you are seeking support for specific issues, aiming for personal growth or embarking on a journey of healing, I would love to walk beside you. Together, we can navigate the intricate landscapes of your past, present, and future experiences.
Why the name "Untangled Connections"
Sometimes we feel stuck, confused, or overwhelmed with all that life presents us with. We carry around and are influenced by many things; our past experiences, traumas, relationships, societal and outside influences, and so much more… I am here to help you untangle and make sense of this mass network in order to move toward your best, most authentic, and "untangled" self.
